Bridge In Forest

THEME

Thresholds and Thin Spaces.
As we walk along the beautiful Oregon Coast, we will reflect on the significance and challenge
of the many THRESHOLDS and THIN SPACES that give us meaning, purpose, growth and joy. We
will walk alone and together in this cathedral of Earth, Sea and Sky allowing the Thresholds and
Thin spaces to deepen our awareness of the holy Mystery that surrounds us. We will share our
own experiences of the exterior and interior Thresholds and Thin Spaces that have formed and
informed us as pilgrims on a journey that is both natural and sacred. We hope to develop
spiritual rituals and practices that keep us mindful and increase our intentionality regarding the
gift of these Thresholds and Thin Spaces that are all around us.

“Right there on the brink of uncertainty and risk, at the threshold, where there is no guarantee
about what will happen next… right there is where an important step toward deep
transformation is likely to occur.”

“The edge is a holy place, or as the Celts called it, “a thin place” and you have to be taught how
to live there. To take your position on the spiritual edge of things is to learn how to move safely
in and out, back and forth, across and return.”
― Richard Rohr

Examples of Thresholds and Thin Places that we seek to bless: Physical and metaphorical
